Consultation & Fees

The first reflexology appointment lasts 75 minutes & follow up appointments 60 minutes.

During the first session, a brief medical history is taken & we discuss the reason you would like reflexology.  This helps me to identify any reflex areas that you would like me to focus on during the first treatment.

Only your footwear needs to be removed, but I recommend that you wear loose clothing, so you don’t feel restricted during treatment.

Once you are comfortable on the couch, the session begins with a warm up massage to loosen the feet & start to reduce any built up tension within the tissues.

The Reflexology Treatment

The reflexology treatment itself begins with the right foot.  Pressure is applied to each reflex area, focusing on specific reflex points throughout the toes, feet & lower legs.  The process itself involves applying various techniques including thumb walking, kneading, holding. rotating & releasing.

Most people experience a deep sense of calm. Some points may be tender, but by working gently over these, the tenderness will usually diminish. Feeling tingling & other sensations within your body during a treatment is a normal reaction to reflexology.

The first treatment involves working the areas that have been discussed with you at the beginning of your session, but is also exploratory, allowing me to identify other reflex areas & points that need my attention.

The treatment ends with a foot massage, gently & slowly bringing you back to the present moment.

When you are fully revived, with a glass of water at your side, I discuss my findings with you, along with an individual treatment plan.

Frequency Of Treatments

The frequency of follow up sessions depend on the reasons for having reflexology.  For specific issues, it is likely that a course of 3 to 4 weekly, or fortnightly, treatments will be recommended.  Reflexology has a cumulative effect & so each treatment builds on the benefits felt from the previous treatment.

For deep relaxation & keeping general imbalances at bay, you may like to book monthly maintenance treatments as part of your own self-care program.
